Chandrababu Naidu and His Crippling Scams | The real who is 420 in AP

  • Cost of 599 acres of land Rs.62.93 Crore.
  • APIIC Estimated Cost Rs.117.94 Crore.
  • Actual Cost of leveling Rs.25 Crore. Quantum of scam Rs.152 Crore.
  • Funds meant for the development of 225 tanks in 11 districts swindled.

What is the entire fuss about land leveling?

The Andhra Pradesh government has brought an acre of land for Rs. 10 Lakh and spent as much as to level the piece, which was incidentally was already flat. While the actual price of the property was Rs.10.50 lakh per acre, the Chandrababu Naidu government has spent Rs. 29.71 lakh per acre on the pretext of leveling. This is the episode of brazen loot and daylight robbery by Chandrababu Naidu (the real who is 420 in AP) who ripped off the government and pocketed public money through the AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APPIIC).

The Narration Goes as Following

The state government had entered into anMoU with the Korean automobile maker Kia Motors to start manufacturing plant in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh. The APPIIC had pooled 599.35 acres of land for this project at Erramanchi, Ammavarupallu, Duddebanda, and Venkatagiripalem villages. The farmers whose lands were acquired for the plant were given a sum of Rs.10.50 lakh per acre as compensation. Thus, the state government had spent Rs.62.93 crore on land acquisition.

The Chandrababu Naidu and the Catch

The APPIIC had invited tenders on April 25, 2017, to level the land so that it could hand over a clean plot to the Kia Motors. The Cost of the work was finalized at a whooping Rs.117.94 Crore. However, most of the contractors believed that the proposed leveling work could have been under cultivation for a very long time. This effectively means that around Rs152 crore was pocketed by the Chief Minister, the real minister who is 420 in AP.

Nara Lokesh – The Real Beneficiary

In the event, when the details of the bidding came out, it was rumored that the contract was conceived and rolled out only to benefit Nara Lokesh, the son of Chief Minister, and to soothePalleRaghunatha Reddy, the Puttaparthi MLA, who had been dropped off the cabinet recently.

For this contract, several companies submitted the bids by May 10, 2017. However, most of them had to withdraw their bids due to the APIIC’s condition that the contracting company must have had a turnover of Rs.780 crore for at least one year in the last five years. Meeting this narrowed down the requirement, only L&T and NCC got qualified in the technical bidding.

This moves came as a shock to the farmer as the real who is 420 in AP, the then Chief Minister, betrayed as the government bought their lands at the Cost of mere Rs.62.93 Crore and spent Rs.177.94 crore – more than double, on leveling it.

TDP Bigwigs’ Lands Exempted

The corrupt Chandrababu Naidu, the real who is 420 in AP, which took the farmer’s lands ruthlessly, had exempted the lands of the bigwigs of the ruling party from the pooling. TDP MLA PalleRaghunatha Reddy,  who had the insider information about the plant, had bought 378 acres in the described area.

The Civil Supplies Minister ParitalaSunitha’s lands were also spared. She has 138 acres in the area as mentioned above. The TDP lawmakers had bought these lands only upon confirming that they would not be taken under land pooling. The privy to insider information helped the real who is 420 in AP, Chandrababu Naidu, and his shady associates.

The Rs.367 Crore Nominations

The corruption under the Chandrababu Naidu does not end here. There are a series of cases uncovered in which the CM had involved himself and hence is rightfully answer to the question as to who is 420 in AP.

After the series of land and water scams, the TDP leaders set their eyes on developing tanks using World Bank Funds, and they are planning to distribute tenders amongst themselves on a nomination basis. The ruling party leaders who had earlier lined their pockets under the Neeru-Chettu program and employment guarantee scheme are now taking up the development of 225 tanks in 11 districts at the Cost of Rs.367.72 Crore.

Things as they Happen

According to the rules set by the World Bank, contractors were supposed to be selected only based on the box tenders and not e-tender. However, the TDP MLAs got ready to hand over their favorite contractors. But when the officials objected to the following, the bureaucrats were pressurized to work on the nomination basis. The involvement of who is the 420 in AP has also emerged in the scandal.

Concluding Remarks

The upsurge in the number of cases indicates only the nod of the Chief Minister who looted the poor of the region while favoring the party members as much as possible. This answers the question as to who is 420 of AP.
